Who we are
Life with Marlowe (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a content and education platform operated by Lee and Rebecca Mann. Our website is lifewithmarlowe.com. We are based in Ontario, Canada.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it:
- Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, purchase a course, or contact us.
- Name — when you create an account or make a purchase.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details.
- Instagram data — if you interact with our Instagram account (@life_with_marlowe), Meta may share your public profile information, comments, and messages with us through the Instagram API to help us respond and manage our community.
- Usage data — first-party and Vercel analytics such as pages viewed, links and buttons used, time and scroll milestones, referral or campaign source, device type, and approximate location derived from network information.
- Analytics identifiers — random browser and session identifiers stored in your browser, plus a one-way pseudonymous network identifier when our analytics secret is configured. These are not advertising identifiers and are not used to follow you across other websites.
- Buyer feedback — feedback you choose to leave about a purchased guide. It remains private unless you explicitly allow public sharing, and an optional public display name is collected only when you provide one.
How we use your information
- To deliver courses, content, and products you purchase.
- To send newsletters and updates you opted into (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- To respond to your messages and comments on Instagram.
- To improve our content based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.
- To understand which links and channels lead to guide visits, checkouts, purchases, and downloads.
- To improve purchased guides and, only with explicit permission and our review, share buyer feedback publicly.
- To detect and prevent spam or abusive interactions on our social accounts.
Instagram and Meta integration
We use the Instagram Graph API and Meta webhooks to manage our Instagram presence. This includes:
- Reading and responding to comments on our posts.
- Receiving and replying to direct messages sent to our account.
- Viewing mentions and tags of our account.
- Accessing our own account insights and analytics.
We do not sell, share, or transfer any Instagram user data to third parties. Data received through the Instagram API is used solely to manage our own account and community interactions.
Third-party services
We use the following services that may process your data:
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-conscious website analytics.
- Supabase — database hosting for customer records and our first-party site analytics.
- Meta / Instagram — social media API integration. See Meta's privacy policy.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. First-party analytics are retained only as long as reasonably needed to understand product performance and improve the site. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days. Instagram interaction data (comments, messages) is retained for community management purposes and can be deleted upon request.
Data deletion
You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will process your request within 30 days. For Instagram-specific data, you can also manage your data through your Instagram privacy settings.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use local and session browser storage for random first-party analytics identifiers and campaign attribution. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and our first-party browser analytics respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals.
Children's privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for email communications at any time.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
